Short tidbits from top filmmakers on the art of their craft

The FESTIVAL DIRECTOR'S CHOICE AWARD was presented to Tom Hofbauer and ITCOS in the Trail Dance Film Festival which took place in Duncan, Oklahoma the weekend of January 16-18, 2009. This festival was a real treat to be a part of. We saw some great films (Glass City which is another film from Toledo and the winner of the Best Drama Award, Target Practice, Evelyn, Rendevous and Alice, just to name a few) and met some wonderful filmmakers and film lovers.

I want to thank the Trail Dance Festival team (Anthony, Ed, Angie, Elizabeth, et al), fellow filmmakers (Mike, John, Trig, Kiana, Chris, Richmond, Chad, et al) and film fans (Stacy and Jennifer, Phil, Mike, and all the others) for supporting ITCOS and for helping to celebrate the world of independent filmmaking.

It was great fun and definitely a top notch festival, well run and well organized. I recommend that any filmmaker looking for a positive festival experience put Trail Dance on the top of your festival submission list.

Go to www.TrailDanceFilmFestival.com for more information. (January 18, 2009)

Trail Dance Film Festival is considered by MovieMaker Magazine to be one of the 25 top film festivals worth the entry fee. (November 19, 2008)

...Strangers was screened as part of the Audience Choice Film Festival in Hobart, Indiana on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Center Theatre.

The screening was not as well attended as we would have liked but the audience response for the film was quite enthusiastic and the Q&A session went on for some time.

I would like to thank those area residents who ventured out and were able to navigate around the flooded fields and closed streets due to the aftermath of the remmants of Hurricane Ike which visited the midwest last week.

The screening was a preliminary event for a weekend film festival that will be held in Hobart sometime in the winter or early spring of 2009. In the Company of Strangers will be screened at that 2009 event. For information about the 2009 festival, please call 219-947-4922 or contact Mike@m-mproductions.com
